RNGD Consolidates-Expands Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, Operations
06/17/2024
The investment will include the consolidation of the company’s Southeast Region manufacturing operations, training center and corporate headquarters. The 8-acre campus will feature 30,000-square-foot office building, a 25,000-square-foot training center, and an expanded 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. A 1-acre site nearby will function as a construction laydown yard for storing heavy equipment and other supplies. Operations are scheduled for January 2025.
“By bringing together our entire New Orleans team on the same connected campus, we will enable cross-functional collaboration between our construction teams, training programs, and manufacturing facility,” said RNGD Founder and CEO Wesley J. Palmisano. “This development will accelerate RNGD’s mission to move the construction industry forward while also expanding our commitment to the city and region.”
To support the project Louisiana Economic Development (LED) offered an incentives package that includes the comprehensive workforce development solutions of LED FastStart and $500,000 performance-based award from the Economic Development Award Program for facility and utility upgrades, contingent on approval from the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation board.
“RNGD is a prime example of the innovation that is transforming long-standing economic drivers like construction and manufacturing,” LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois noted. “We thank the company for choosing Louisiana as the site of its ambitious expansion, and look forward to supporting their efforts to grow their manufacturing workforce and meet the surging demand for construction services and resources in our state.”
Additionally the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) negotiated a PILOT to offset development costs.
“Over the past decade, Wesley Palmisano and the RNGD team have been leaders in innovation and growth,” added Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. “RNGD’s next progression will not only create hundreds of new jobs in our region, but will also help to evolve the construction industry, as a whole.”
RNGD operates in the industrial, heavy civil and commercial construction markets. The company is made up of several businesses: a multi-state building construction enterprise, a heavy civil and infrastructure construction enterprise, and a start-up manufacturing company focused on delivering buildings as a kit of manufactured components.
“This announcement represents a significant economic investment in Jefferson Parish,” said JEDCO President & CEO Jerry Bologna. “We are proud to retain RNGD in the region and substantially expand their footprint in Jefferson Parish through competitive incentive offerings at both the state and local level. JEDCO remains committed to offering the best possible solutions to retain companies to the region.”
