United States Playing Card Expands Erlanger, Kentucky, Operations

The investment will include new and upgraded equipment as well as facility upgrades.
“We are particularly pleased about the 10 new high-quality jobs this investment will bring, as this further strengthens our ties with the local community and contributes to the region’s economic growth,” said Craig Townsend, president of USPC. “The investment will enhance our playing card production capabilities, ensuring that we continue to deliver the exceptional products our customers expect and trust.”
To support the project the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved a 10-year incentive agreement with the company under the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based agreement can provide tax incentives based on the company’s investment and annual targets of creation and maintenance of 10 Kentucky-resident, full-time jobs across 10 years; and paying an average hourly wage of $37.79 including benefits across those jobs.
By meeting its annual targets over the agreement term, the company can be eligible to keep a portion of the new tax revenue it generates. The company may claim eligible incentives against its income tax liability and/or wage assessments.
“The growth we are seeing in Kentucky-based companies manufacturing, producing and distributing their products to customers across the U.S. and internationally is a testament to the quality of businesses we have throughout the state,” noted Governor Andy Beshear. “The United States Playing Card Co. located here in the commonwealth in 2008 and has never looked back, continually investing and growing in the Northern Kentucky region. I am thrilled to see them expanding once again and look forward to the company’s continued success here in Boone County.”
In addition, USPC can receive resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers. Those include no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job-training incentives.

The United States Playing Card Co. manufactures, markets and distributes traditional playing cards, card games, children’s card games and card accessories. The company is part of Cartamundi Group, a global leader in “play” solutions, such as playing cards, card and board games, and collectibles and trading card games.
