Howard Industries Expands Mississippi Manufacturing Operations

Electrical distribution transformer and technology products manufacturer Howard Industries plans to expand its operations in Clarke County, Jones County, and Simpson County, Mississippi. The $236.95 million project is expected to create 450 jobs over the next five years.

The investment will enable the company to meet U.S. Department of Energy’s new requirements for electrical transformers while addressing the growing demand for power from sectors such as data centers, electric vehicles, transportation and industry.

This investment will not only enhance our production capabilities but also create new job opportunities for the dedicated people of Clarke, Jones and Simpson counties. We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Mississippi, which has been the cornerstone of our company’s success,” Howard Industries Chief Executive Officer Michael Howard said.

To support the project Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. MDA also is providing assistance for land acquisition, infrastructure improvements and construction costs. The Clarke County Board of Supervisors, Simpson County Board of Supervisors and Jones County Board of Supervisors are assisting with the project, as well.

Howard Industries is a manufacturer of liquid-filled distribution transformers for the utility and commercial/industrial markets. Other products include computers and technology solutions, medical technology products, and lighting and ballast products.
