Japan-Based YKK AP America Plans Macon, Georgia, Manufacturing Center

YKK AP America Inc., a technology-oriented manufacturer of commercial façade systems and residential windows and doors, will expand with a new manufacturing facility and additional machinery and equipment in Macon, Georgia. The $125 million project is expected to create 100 jobs In Bibb County.

The new state-of-the-art facility, which will become home to YKK’s residential division, will be located at the Macon-Bibb I-75 Industrial Park, a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certified site. The company will relocate its operations and employees from its current site on Ocmulgee Boulevard. Production is planned for early 2024.

The new facility will expand our workforce, introduce further vertical integration of vinyl extrusion, glass, and window production, and allow us to create enhanced efficiencies to manufacture the highest quality windows and doors for homebuilders and homeowners," said Oliver Stepe, President of YKK AP America Inc. "This investment builds toward our long-term vision to be the leader in the residential window and door market and positions us to expand our business in and beyond the Southeast region."

Senior Project Manager Candice Scott represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Global Commerce team on the project in partnership with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority and Georgia Power.
