Tenneco Leases 150,000 Square Foot Facility In Louisville, Indiana
09/03/2014
The firm is one of the world’s largest designers, manufacturers and marketers of clean air and ride performance products and systems for automotive and commercial vehicle original equipment markets and the aftermarket.
America Place, a leading real estate development company for more than 30 years, has already begun construction on an adjacent building more than one-and-a-half times the size of Tenneco’s initial facility.
America Place is investing $75 million to $100 million to develop at least four more buildings on its 86-acre campus to meet the growing demand for logistics driven manufacturing facilities. When completed, the campus will include more than 1 million square feet and serve as home to employers with about 2,500 jobs.
“We’re betting on the bridges to drive more and more investment to the Louisville-Southern Indiana region,” said Debbie Smith, Managing Director of America Place. “The companies that we’re talking with see the advantages of strategically locating their facilities in the heart of America on a campus near the landing of the new East End Bridge.”
“Bringing a well-respected, Fortune 500 firm to the area is a major victory for our entire economic development team,” Smith said. “Tenneco’s commitment to grow jobs here is evidence that our own investment in developing homes for logistics and manufacturing companies is paying off. The leaders at Tenneco recognized the significant benefits of locating their manufacturing plant just two miles from the East End Bridge. The new span will open the corridor between Southern Indiana and points east of Louisville, speeding the delivery of parts and supplies.”
America Place working in cooperation with Governor Mike Pence, the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore, and officials at One Southern Indiana and River Ridge Commerce Center for their combined efforts to meet Tenneco’s needs.
“Like any major economic development victory, this required a team effort,” Smith added. “For more than a year, our team and our partners have worked closely with Tenneco to build a strong bond that we expect to provide long-lasting benefits to our community.”
