EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics Expands Anderson, South Carolina, Manufacturing Plant
10/18/2016
In 2015, the company announced an $11 million investment to create its first United States manufacturing facility in Anderson County. This new $5 million project will complement the original investment, allowing EuWe to meet increased demand from its customers, state economic development officials said. The Anderson County operations focus solely on the production of automotive plastic interior parts.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $100,000 Set Aside grant to Anderson County to assist with the costs of real property improvements.
“EuWe still is in the preparation and ramp-up phase of its new facility in the United States, supporting our main customer, BMW. We were extremely excited having already been awarded additional business prior to our actual launch of our production. This enabled us to increase the size and set-up of our operations and to create even more new jobs right here in Anderson County. Being a company that is still managed by the founding family and always plans for the long run, we are confident to make this endeavor a success as well,” said EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc. CEO Markus Gosse.
“It’s always exciting when a company decides to double down on its commitment to our state and to our people. We were thrilled last year when the EuWe Group announced that it would be locating its first U.S. facility here, and we’re even more excited today because this $5 million investment shows that companies of all kinds can find success and thrive in South Carolina,” Governor Nikki Haley said.
“As the nation’s leader in the export of completed passenger vehicles, South Carolina continues to prove to the world that we are a force to be reckoned with on the global automotive stage. Announcements like the one today from the EuWe Group will help ensure that the Palmetto State remains an automotive powerhouse for many years to come,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
