CIG Logistics Opens Rail Terminal Hub In Navasota, Texas
10/26/2015
According to the firm, its Navasota hub is strategically located in the Eaglebine and Woodbine Shale plays near Houston to significantly minimize trucking distances and provide quick access to common trucking routes. With 392 rail car spots and direct service from the Union Pacific Railroad, the new Navasota terminal is designed to help customers reduce supply chain logistics costs for frac sand and other commodities.
"As the energy and construction markets in Southeast Texas advance, companies are in need of more efficient and affordable transportation, transloading and storage solutions for critical supplies," said Michael Collins, CIG Logistics Vice President of Business Development. "We look forward to partnering with oil producers and construction companies at our Navasota terminal to deliver our signature operational efficiency and reliability to ultimately help each customer reduce their supply chain costs and grow their business."
The Navasota terminal will employ dozens of skilled workers, including railroad engineers, conductors and bulk terminal operators, company officials said. The Navasota terminal adds to CIG Logistics' expanding network and is the company's eighth transloading and storage facility located throughout Texas and New Mexico.
