03/07/2016
The firm manufacturers Cam-Lift, a hybrid between a trailer and a hook lift system that comes in several models. The Cam-Lift is a unique system that can be adapted to a number of different vehicles, from a mini-lift for pickup trucks up to 40,000 capacity JIB hydraulic system. The company plans to hire 10 employees in positions including; machinists, welders, engineers and sales.
Two and three axle goose neck trailers, utility trailers, skip loaders and a variety of container systems, packers, asphalt systems, platforms, car lifts, airplane lifts, and agri-lifts comprise the bulk of the product line.
"The demand for Cam-Lift products continues to grow in the U.S. and we made the business decision to open our independent United States headquarters and a central U.S. distribution point in Northern Nevada that is dedicated solely for our U.S. customers," said Jacques Simard, Vice President of Cam-Concept USA. "The Sparks location on Glendale Avenue will initially serve as our U.S. distribution point with Cam-Lift systems still being made in Quebec. "If everything goes as planned, we will begin manufacturing in Sparks around the second half of 2016."
"It is exciting to see a Canadian company identify and then select Reno-Sparks for their U.S. operations and more importantly to serve as the location for Cam-Concept's United States headquarters," said, Mike Kazmierski, CEO of Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada. "With an average wage of $28/hour, this will bring great jobs to the Sparks and will add to the exponential growth of manufacturing we are experiencing in the region," he said.
Sparks Councilwoman Julia Ratti said, "Cam-Concept is an excellent fit for the Sparks industrial area that offers a vibrant environment for industrial and light manufacturing enterprises. We wish them great success in Sparks," she said. "I also want to salute EDAWN for their continued efforts on building our regional economy and helping to facilitate Cam-Concept's opportunity to expand here in Sparks," Ratti added.
