According to company officials, the 42,000 square foot facility will primarily serve as the production backbone of sustainable thermal materials for PTG.
“This new location will serve as a springboard for continued growth, allowing us to increase our product offerings and further expand our TRUEtemp Naturals Cellulose product line of 100% Curbside Recyclable and Repulpable solutions,” said Thomas Lawlor, Chief Operating Officer of PTG. “Our company recently signed significant contracts with two of the top 20 Pharmaceutical companies, cementing PTG’s position as a leader in the design and engineering of thermal packaging solutions that ensure critical life-saving medications maintain their efficacy when delivered to patients and pharmacies.”
Celebrating its 15th year offering the most advanced, temperature-sensitive thermal shipping systems for many of the top pharmaceutical and biologics companies, PTG continues to develop, qualify, and roll-out both custom and off-the-shelf shippers. PTG’s thermo-efficient, and environmentally sustainable solutions, TRUEtemp Naturals Cellulose shippers are designed with a unique, curbside recyclable insulating fiber composed of layers that protect against impact and temperature fluctuation.
In addition to the Cellulose line, PTG offers a full suite of reusable options, including quality polyurethane and Vacuum Insulated Panels for superior performance. PTG’s reusable line is manufactured with safe, non-toxic materials allowing PTG to maintain its commitment to lessening environmental impact.
“Many pharmaceutical companies that are targeting carbon neutrality are embracing greener manufacturing methods to reduce carbon footprints. Our goal is to be the sustainable thermal shipping partner, regardless of how complex our client’s needs are,” said Bill Blezard, CEO of Packaging Technology Group. “Since 2018, we have saved over 450,000 pounds of EPS from landfills, and we expect this number to double over the next year.”
