Bondex Expands Manufacturing Plant In Trenton, S.C.

Bondex, Inc., a globally-recognized manufacturer of thermally-bonded nonwoven substrates, is expanding its manufacturing operations at 2 Maxwell Drive in Trenton, South Carolina. The project is expected to bring $11.5 million in new investment and lead to the creation of 17 new jobs in Edgefield County, South Carolina.

Founded in 1996, Bondex, Inc. produces thermally-bonded nonwoven substrates for the filtration, medical and electrical industries. Additionally, utilizing state-of-the-art horizontal lamination technology, along with precision vertical coating towers, Bondex offers a wide range of high-quality, flexible laminate insulation material servicing the electrical market. Located the company intends to expand its existing manufacturing operations to support its new Spunlace manufacturing process.

As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded Edgefield County a Set-Aside grant of $100,000 to assist with the costs of building construction.

“We are excited to move forward with our new expansion plans, investing $11.5 million in additional plant facilities and new Spunlace technology equipment, allowing Bondex to provide a wide range of Spunlace fabrics in various market segments. The support and assistance received from the state of South Carolina has been tremendous. A true partnership in action,” said President of Bondex, Inc. Steven Fransoso.

“South Carolina’s manufacturing industry continues to thrive, and today’s announcement by Bondex is a testament to that. By further expanding its operations in our state, Bondex is making a statement that South Carolina is ‘Just right’ for business,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
