West Point, Georgia Employment Numbers to Rise as Hyundai Relocates Some Production

The 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe will be produced at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. Hyundai is moving production of the model from its facility in Montgomery, Alabama, to the Kia plant in West Point, Georgia, in the fall.

The move will increase work force numbers of those who work at the Kia plant and its nearby suppliers from 2,000 employees to 7,000.

The Kia facility already makes the 2011 Kia Sorento, the Korean auto maker's best-selling model.
