Terberg Taylor Americas Group- Royal Terberg Group Plan Lowndes County, Mississippi, Specialty Vehicle Plant

Specialized vehicle manufacturer Terberg Taylor Americas Group will build a hauling vehicle production facility in Lowndes County, Mississippi. The $15.9 million project is expected to create 90 jobs.

The new operation, a joint venture with Royal Terberg Group of the Netherlands, will build up a distribution network for the sales, after sales and rental of the Terberg models of terminal tractors. The first terminal tractor is expected to be built in the third quarter of 2023.

“Taylor has enjoyed our relationship with Terberg. We are excited to bring these products and manufacturing to the U.S. and Mississippi. We look forward to this great adventure with these two great companies coming together as one in this joint venture. There has been tremendous help from Joe Max Higgins, his team at Golden Triangle Development LINK and the Mississippi Development Authority. This facility will be a state-of-the-art factory where the best terminal tractors in the world will be built,” Robert Taylor, President and COO, Taylor Group of Companies said.

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance for site preparation and infrastructure needs as an incentive. Lowndes County also is assisting with the project.

Terberg Special Vehicles manufactures special vehicles such as terminal tractors, Yard tractors, RoRo tractors and road/rail tractors which are used in ports, heavy industry, distribution centers, railway shunting yards, tunneling sites and airports.

The Royal Terberg Group B.V. is a specialized vehicle manufacturer based in IJsselstein, Utrecht, Netherlands building special trucks and fitting specialist equipment to other manufacturer's trucks, cars and vans.
