China-Based Labon Locates U.S. Manufacturing Hub In Orangeburg, South Carolina

Labon, a China-based leading technical fiber and textile manufacturer, is establishing its operations center in the Orangeburg County, South Carolina. The project is expected to bring $3.1 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 23 new jobs.

To launch its first operations in the U.S., Labon has purchased a 15,700-square-foot facility, which will utilize raw materials to produce fibers. Located at 122 Industrial Boulevard in Orangeburg., the company’s new facility is projected to be operational by January 2017.

Established in Shanghai in 2005, Labon specializes in the research, development and manufacturing of technical fibers and textiles for use across a variety of applications, including sealing, friction, hand protection and flame-retardant products.

As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.

“Labon is excited to launch our first operations in the United States in Orangeburg County. Between the skilled workforce and friendly business climate, this decision was easy for us. This development will allow us, not only to accommodate our continued business growth, but better serve our customers as well,” Labon General Manager Hongxin Chen said.
