Averitt Express Expands Richland, Mississippi, Operations

Freight distribution and supply chain management provider Averitt Express plans to expand its operations in Richland, Mississippi. The $9.6 million project is expected to create 27 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a 150,000-square-foot logistics facility located at the company’s existing site.

This expansion in Richland represents more than a new facility—it is a commitment to creating jobs, investing in Rankin County, expanding our infrastructure, and continuing to deliver the supply chain solutions our customers count on. We are proud to deepen our roots in Mississippi and look forward to building on the strong partnerships that make this growth possible,” Averitt Express President and COO Barry Blakely said.

To support the project the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Rankin County and the city of Richland also are assisting with the project.

Averitt Express is a transportation and logistics company that provides a range of services, including less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipping, dedicated fleets, and supply chain management solutions. The company currently has more than 140 warehouse and distribution facilities in the Southeast U.S.
