Averitt Express Expands Richland, Mississippi, Operations
10/18/2025
The investment will include the construction of a 150,000-square-foot logistics facility located at the company’s existing site.
“At Averitt, we believe our growth is tied directly to the strength of the communities we serve. This expansion in Richland represents more than a new facility—it is a commitment to creating jobs, investing in Rankin County, expanding our infrastructure, and continuing to deliver the supply chain solutions our customers count on. We are proud to deepen our roots in Mississippi and look forward to building on the strong partnerships that make this growth possible,” Averitt Express President and COO Barry Blakely said.
To support the project the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Rankin County and the city of Richland also are assisting with the project.
“Averitt Express once again chose Mississippi because it pays off. This expansion brings more jobs, stronger supply chains and new opportunities for Rankin County families. Mississippians have the grit and determination to deliver, and that—along with our position as a top business location—is why Averitt and so many others continue to grow here,” noted Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork.
Averitt Express is a transportation and logistics company that provides a range of services, including less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipping, dedicated fleets, and supply chain management solutions. The company currently has more than 140 warehouse and distribution facilities in the Southeast U.S.
“The Averitt Express expansion is a great win for our community with its substantial investment and 27 new jobs in Rankin County. This project powerfully demonstrates the economic development momentum we’ve built in our community, serving as a clear sign that our business-friendly environment and strategic partnerships are attracting and retaining top-tier companies. We are proud to partner with Averitt Express and look forward to their continued success in Rankin County,” added Rankin First Chairman Noel Daniels.
