Covestro Expands Hebron, Ohio, Production Operations

Covestro, a producer of polyurethane and polycarbonate raw materials, plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Hebron, Ohio. The More than $100 million project is expected to create 24 jobs.

The investment will include new advanced production lines to manufacture high-performance polycarbonate materials to better serve the automotive, healthcare, and electronics industries in North America.

“This investment, which follows our recent announcement of a $40 million investment in our R&D capabilities in Pittsburgh, underscores how critical our U.S. sites and the U.S. market are to Covestro’s global strategy,” said Samir Hifri, chairman and president of Covestro LLC. “The expanded capacity of our polycarbonate compounding capabilities in Ohio will both help us better supply our customers as well as represents a commitment to our employees, the Hebron, Ohio community, and the U.S. market as a whole.”

Covestro supplies customers in key industries such as mobility, building and living, and the electrical and electronics sector. In addition, polymers from the company are also used in sectors such as sports and leisure, telecommunications and health, and the chemical industry.
