Bianco & Sons Expands Meat And Sausage Production In Medford, Massachusetts
05/09/2016
As an incentive, the company will utilize proceeds from MassDevelopment’s $5.1 million tax-exempt bond, purchased by East Boston Savings Bank, to buy and renovate its new operations center on a 1.22-acre parcel of land. The new building will provide a larger and more efficient layout for Bianco’s sausage production. Bond proceeds are also helping the company purchase furniture, fixtures, and production equipment. MassDevelopment estimates the project will create 21 construction jobs. The Agency also enhanced the bond with a guarantee.
“It is Bianco & Sons’ extreme pleasure to be welcomed in to the Medford business community as we strive to enhance and maximize our growth potential. We are very honored by the assistance granted by MassDevelopment and the City of Medford as we embark on this state-of-the art facility growth endeavor. Our goal is to enhance our consumer segment and attain customer product delight as we move forward into the future with generations of our premium products and services,” said Joseph Bianco, Jr., Owner of Bianco & Sons.
“We are USDA inspected to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality of meats they deserve. Our company is a reflection of our dedicated employees, all whom work cooperatively to achieve a common goal. Our staff is dedicated, passionate, and highly knowledgeable about our products. We hope to complete transition into our Medford location by November 2016,” he added.
Founded 56 years ago as a retail meat and sausage market, Bianco & Sons has grown considerably and shifted to a manufacturing operation, offering an increasing variety of meats and sausages, such as beef, pork, veal, lamb, chicken, egg, turkey, and other specialty items. The company will move from three spaces it is leasing in Revere into this new facility, which will accommodate the entire operation.
“Our administration is thrilled to welcome Bianco & Sons Inc. and its employees to Medford and to work creatively and collaboratively to grow our community,” said Mayor Stephanie Burke. “Medford is delighted and honored that Bianco & Sons Inc. chose our City to expand their business and we look forward to the start of a strong partnership.”
“The Commonwealth’s food manufacturers are a delicious, diverse, and crucial piece of this sector of the Massachusetts economy,” said MassDevelopment President/CEO Marty Jones. “MassDevelopment is pleased to help Bianco & Sons, a well-known local company, expand and increase production of its specialty meat products.”
