Global Manufacturing Services Expands Columbia, Tennessee, Manufacturing Plant
12/21/2015
“Tire manufacturers require high quality products and services, delivered as quickly as possible. The continued investment in exceptional people and equipment will allow us to exceed the needs of existing and future customers,” Global Manufacturing Services, Inc. President Mike Carson said.
GMS specializes in engineering, designing, manufacturing and repairing tire molds at its Columbia facility, which serves most of the North American tire market. The company has purchased new equipment, including cranes, and will make building modifications to accommodate the equipment.
“Tennessee has the largest concentration of automotive industry employment in the South, and employment in this sector has grown ten times faster than overall jobs in the state,” Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said. “I want to thank GMS for its continued investment in Maury County and for providing valuable jobs for our Team Tennessee workforce.”
