Covestro Expands Hebron, Ohio, Production Operations
03/02/2025
The investment will include new advanced production lines to manufacture high-performance polycarbonate materials to better serve the automotive, healthcare, and electronics industries in North America.
“This investment, which follows our recent announcement of a $40 million investment in our R&D capabilities in Pittsburgh, underscores how critical our U.S. sites and the U.S. market are to Covestro’s global strategy,” said Samir Hifri, chairman and president of Covestro LLC. “The expanded capacity of our polycarbonate compounding capabilities in Ohio will both help us better supply our customers as well as represents a commitment to our employees, the Hebron, Ohio community, and the U.S. market as a whole.”
Covestro supplies customers in key industries such as mobility, building and living, and the electrical and electronics sector. In addition, polymers from the company are also used in sectors such as sports and leisure, telecommunications and health, and the chemical industry.
“Covestro’s growth in Hebron reinforces Ohio’s leadership in advanced materials manufacturing,” noted JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This expansion of the German-headquartered company in the Columbus Region strengthens Ohio’s position as a hub for businesses seeking talent and a premier location to serve their customers in the North American market.”
“Covestro’s decision to invest further in their facility in Licking County highlights the strength of our workforce and the value our community brings to the company’s growth,” added Alexis Fitzsimmons, Executive Director of Grow Licking County. “This expansion reflects the trust Covestro has in our community and demonstrates the opportunities available in Licking County for advanced manufacturing and innovation.”
