Swiss-Based Medacta USA Eyes Franklin, Tennessee, for U.S. Headquarters
05/21/2019
The company will establish its U.S. headquarters and a research and development lab in Bowers Park at 6640 Carothers Parkway, with plans to create over 50 jobs in Middle Tennessee over the next five years.
A subsidiary of Switzerland-based Medacta International, Medacta USA specializes in the design and production of innovative orthopedic products and the development of accompanying surgical techniques.
“Everyone at Medacta USA is thrilled to call Franklin our new home. The Greater Nashville area combines a deep talent pool in the health care and tech space with close proximity to some of the world’s best orthopedic researchers and practitioners at leading medical institutions. The quality of life for our team members, along with Nashville’s accessibility, made this an easy decision. We are grateful for the community’s warm welcome and look forward to becoming an active and visible member of it,” Matthew Goudy, Medacta USA general manager said.
“Medacta USA’s decision to bring its U.S. headquarters to Franklin underscores the vibrant economy of the entire Nashville region. Tennessee’s business-friendly environment gives companies of all types the opportunity to create quality jobs for our residents, especially in the health care sector. I thank Medacta for this investment in Williamson County,” said Governor Bill Lee.
“There’s no question that the global health care industry revolves around Nashville. With more than 250,000 Middle Tennesseans working in the industry, Tennessee continues to attract world-class health care companies and their headquarters operations. I’m pleased to welcome Medacta USA to the growing roster of health care companies that play such a vital role in our state’s diverse and dynamic economy,” added Bob Rolfe, Commissioner of TNECD.
“We are proud to add Medacta USA to the long list of health care providers who have chosen to call Williamson County home. Medacta’s commitment to innovative, world-class technology and training is inspiring. We look forward to welcoming them to our community,” Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson said.
