GE Healthcare Expands Florence, South Carolina, MRI Production Plant

GE Healthcare is expanding its existing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) components production operations at 3001 West Radio Drive in Florence, South Carolina. The new $40 million capacity expansion is projected to create 100 new jobs.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric company, is a leading provider of medical and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, drug discovery, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.

GE Healthcare will be expanding its production of MRI components to accommodate several new products in the company’s portfolio. This existing 500,000-square-foot facility specializes in designing, manufacturing and testing the superconducting magnet components of the system.
