South Korea-Based Samkwang Plans Tuskegee, Alabama, Operations

South Korea-based Samkwang, a manufacturer and supplier to Kia and Hyundai, plans to establish operations in Tuskegee, Alabama. The project is expected to create 114 jobs.

The company’s new 168,000 square-foot facility will be located at the Regional East Alabama Logistics Park (REAL Park) and will produce injection, paint and assembly-based parts.

“We have gotten to know the corporate and local Samkwang team, and we know that this will be a great partnership going forward,” said Joe Turnham, director of the Macon County Development Authority. “With our great I-85 location coupled with such a professional REAL Park team, this is an outstanding outcome for new jobs and prosperity for our area.”

Samkwang Co., Ltd. specialized in manufacturing for the IT, automotive, and electronics industries. The company currently has operations in Korea, Vietnam, India, Mexico, and the U.S.
