Superior Industries International Relocates Global Headquarters To Southfield, Michigan

Superior Industries International, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of aluminum wheels for passenger cars and light-duty vehicles in North America. The company operates five manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico that employ approximately 3,000 people. Superior plans to relocate its global headquarters to Southfield from California, invest up to $2.5 million and create 75 jobs.
As a result, the company has been awarded a $900,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in Texas and Tennessee. The city of Southfield is providing support to the project in the form of expedited permitting through the city’s building department.
“We are excited about transitioning our headquarters to Southfield and to forming a mutually beneficial, long-term partnership with the state of Michigan,” said Don Stebbins, President/CEO of Superior Industries. “Michigan is the heart of the North American auto industry, and being based here will help us develop even closer relationships with our customers. Michigan also provides a deep talent pool and we are excited to hit the ground running here. We look forward to working closely with the state of Michigan to add long-term value, create jobs, and bring business into the region.”
