Camel Energy Plans North American Operations In Ann Arbor, Michigan, Region

The company, which manufactures batteries for cars, electric vehicles, agriculture, and other applications, has been awarded a $300,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant by the MEDC. It will also receive support in filling new jobs from Ann Arbor SPARK.
“Camel Energy is excited to open its North American headquarters in the Ann Arbor region,” said Zubo Zhang, President of Camel Energy. “As a global leader in the design and development of battery technology for application in the automotive industry, Camel Energy hopes to continue its pursuit of new and innovative technologies from its North American R&D center.”
Camel Energy will hire engineering and technical talent as it begins operations, Ann Arbor Spark said. “Attracting foreign investment to the Ann Arbor region is a way to ensure our long-term economic prosperity,” said Paul Krutko, President & CEO, Ann Arbor SPARK. “Ann Arbor has long been known as a place where energy companies can innovate, from fuel cells to batteries to alternative energy, and Camel Energy will build on that legacy. Camel Energy choosing the Ann Arbor region is a signal to other energy companies that there’s a depth of skilled talent here.”
