Manufacturing Support Industries Expands Salisbury, Maryland, Plant Complex

Manufacturing Support Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of precision components for the defense industry, is expanding its operations in Salisbury, Maryland.

As part of a strategic affiliation with Craig Technologies in Seaford, Delaware, a leading manufacturer of precision ground plastic balls and custom injection molded parts, product lines are being integrated at MSI’s Salisbury facility, which will add 42 new jobs over the next three years.

“We have always been proud to produce quality components for the Department of Defense,” said MSI President Robert Correa. “These investments will allow us to continue this important work well into the future.”

“We are expanding the capabilities of MSI,” said Craig Technologies President Don Hollenbeck. “The integration of our tool and die facilities and our molding capabilities coupled with the machining capabilities of MSI will allow MSI to become more competitive.”

Since 1998, MSI has manufactured high-precision weaponry components for the military. The company provides services from initial fabrication to final assembly and testing. This is the third major manufacturing project for Salisbury in the past six months, following the announcements of RDI Wire & Cable Solutions and Toriod P & H expanding in the Eastern Shore’s largest city.

"It is exciting to see yet another manufacturer in Salisbury growing and adding jobs,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “This expansion, and the 42 new jobs it will create, is a win for the local community as we work to provide new and better opportunities for hardworking Marylanders.”

To assist with project costs, the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a $100,000 conditional loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund (MEDAAF). In addition, The Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development Corporation will also provide an additional $100,000 loan. The company is also eligible for various tax credits including Maryland’s Job Creation Tax Credit.

“We are pleased to support the expansion of Manufacturing Support Industries, and welcome the new product line and new jobs,” said Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill. “Manufacturing companies all over our state are continuing to grow and add jobs, and we are pleased to work with our local partners to ensure that these companies have the resources needed to thrive in Maryland.”
