Germany-based Mauser Group Locates Logistics Hub In Geismar, Louisiana

Germany-based Mauser Group will complete a $10 million capital investment in a new 40,000-square-foot packaging and logistics facility near its major industrial customers in Ascension Parish, on a 5-acre site at Talon Industrial Park in Geismar, Louisiana.

Mauser USA’s initial project phase, which is expected to create 28 jobs, will support the packaging needs of chemical manufacturing customers in the Geismar area. The project has the potential to expand with a second phase that would yield 19 additional jobs, for a total of 47 new direct jobs. In Ascension Parish, Mauser will produce custom-engineered plastic containers for shipment of industrial chemicals in the project’s initial phase. Additional phases could include steel and other forms of packaging in response to industry demand.

To secure the project, the State of Louisiana offered the company a competitive incentive package that includes the comprehensive solutions of LED FastStart, the state workforce development program in the nation. In addition, Mauser is expected to utilize the state’s Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.

“Louisiana is a global leader in the production of petrochemicals, with the Geismar area of Ascension Parish being one of our most important production hubs for this vital industry,” Governor John Bel Edwards said.

We welcome one of the world’s industrial packaging leaders to our state and are grateful for their creation of new career opportunities in Louisiana,” he added.
