HealthLink Europe & International Expands Memphis, Tennessee, Warehouse
08/27/2018
HealthLink is moving its current warehousing activities in Memphis to a warehouse of 110,000 square feet and in Waalwijk to a warehouse of 170,000 square feet. The move of both warehouses is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2019.
The new Memphis facility is located less than 7 miles away from the FedEx Super Hub. Building on proximity to FedEx Corp. and Memphis's emerging biosciences hub, HealthLink Europe & International have made Memphis its latest flagship operation in North America.
Rick Hughes, Managing Director of HealthLink International, "As specialists in medical device logistics and order-to-cash services, we are investing in our customers' growth by building a new temperature controlled medical grade GDP facility in Waalwijk the Netherlands and opening our temperature controlled FDA registered facility in Memphis, Tennessee."
The space at 4049 Willow Lake is tightly regulated to ensure that devices are packaged and processed safely. Hughes claims that proximity to FedEx was the deciding factor in the decision to base HealthLink's North American operations in Memphis. HealthLink works under time-sensitive windows. "Being so close to FedEx is huge for us," Hughes said. "We are able to reach both coastlines overnight for next-day deliveries with excellent freight rates."
The new Waalwijk facility will replicate and enhance all warehouse activities that are now taking place in the current HealthLink warehouses in 's-Hertogenbosch and Rosmalen (the Netherlands).
