Eldorado Stone Opens Manufacturing-Distribution Complex in Greencastle, Pennsylvania

Eldorado Stone, manufacturer of architectural stone veneer, opened its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility at Antrim Commons Business Park in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.

According to company officials, the 432,000-square-foot facility will consolidate activities from two pre-existing locations, an aging manufacturing facility near Greencastle and a distribution facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, into one central hub for the region. The facility will incorporate a new system designed to improve productivity and reduce waste materials by repurposing wastewater and other wet waste.

“By consolidating operations into a single facility and upgrading equipment, our team will be able to increase capacity by 25 to 30 percent while ultimately spending less on operational logistics,” said Ramsay Hawfield, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Eldorado Stone. “This increase will translate directly into enhanced service opportunities for Eldorado Stone customers all along the East Coast.”

“In addition to the technological improvements, we’re excited about the impact this facility will have on our employees’ lives,” said Plant Manager Frank Guthrie. “We have more space for operations, more lighting, vastly improved air circulation, and a range of comfort features that will provide our team with a safe and enjoyable work environment.”

The company holds a 15-year lease on the 25.4-acre Atapco Properties site, with plans to invest approximately $7 million in equipment and machinery in its facility, company officials said. This includes a new waste repurposing system that will help workers control and manage wastewater and other wet waste materials to reduce the amount of discarded waste by as much as 50 percent.
