Solventum Relocates-Plans Eagan, Minnesota, Research Operations

11/19/2024
Solventum, a 3M health care spinoff, plans to relocate and expand its research and development operations in Eagan, Minnesota. The $209 million project is expected to retain at least 1,000 jobs.

The investment includes property acquisition, renovations and machinery, equipment, and technology investments. Operations are scheduled to begin by early 2026.

"Minnesota's support was instrumental in our decision to reinvest in the Twin Cities area. We look forward to continued growth as a global healthcare leader and a strong partnership with the State and City of Eagan,” said Bryan Hanson, Solventum chief executive officer.

The project is being supported by nearly $13 million in business development funding from the State of Minnesota. Solventum's economic development awards come from DEED's Job Creation Fund and Minnesota Investment Fund.

"We're thrilled Solventum chose to continue to expand its presence in Minnesota after an extensive search process," noted Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Commissioner Matt Varilek. "Having this Fortune 500 company contribute to local and global economies while retaining thousands of jobs in our state and tapping into Minnesota's internationally-renowned health care and med tech ecosystem is a win across the board."

Solventum manufactures medical equipment and dental supplies. The company currently operates more than 300 offices and manufacturing sites globally.
