12/14/2021
According to the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), the new 104,000 square foot facility is a significant expansion of its existing Sustainability Solutions operations within the region. Production at the site is projected to start in mid-2022.
“Stryker’s ongoing investment into Arizona, and specifically Chandler, further demonstrates the value we see in this community. We’ve been fortunate to work with many great organizations over the years, which ultimately helped make this expansion into Chandler a reality,” said Brian White, president of Stryker’s Sustainability Solutions division. “We look forward to furthering our mission of making healthcare better with the City of Chandler.”
“Stryker’s expansion in Chandler demonstrates the rapid growth of medical technology in the state,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The company’s continued investment in Arizona will bring nearly 300 high-quality jobs over the next few years, strengthening Arizona’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and technology. We look forward to supporting Stryker’s Sustainability Solutions division.”
The Sustainability Solutions division handles the reprocessing of single-use medical devices, which involves collecting used devices and inspecting, cleaning, testing, sterilizing and re-packaging them before they are returned to hospitals for another use. ACA officials noted, Stryker reprocesses more than 20 million devices per year with a 99.98% success rate, which has diverted 25 million pounds of waste from landfills over the past five years.
“Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and is an exciting addition to Chandler’s thriving healthcare, MedTech, innovation and manufacturing ecosystems,” said Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “Stryker is a great example of a global company attaining success in Greater Phoenix and expanding its operational footprint within the region to better serve its customers, while creating high-quality jobs for residents. We look forward to being a partner in Stryker’s continued growth as they improve patient and hospital outcomes with innovative products.”
