AmbioPharm Expands North Augusta, South Carolina, Production Operations

06/19/2026
Peptide manufacturer AmbioPharm plans to expand its operations in North Augusta, South Carolina. The $118.96 million project is expected to create 202 jobs in Aiken County.

The investment will include construction of a new modular manufacturing facility at the company’s existing campus that will increase commercial-scale peptide production capacity and support growing demand for peptide-based pharmaceutical ingredients. Operations are scheduled to begin by the end of 2027.

“As the global demand for peptide therapeutics accelerates, the need for dependable U.S. manufacturing is extremely important,” said Brian Gregg, CEO of AmbioPharm. “This expansion enhances our ability to support our client-partners with scalable, high-quality production while creating new opportunities for skilled talent in Aiken County.”

AmbioPharm develops and manufactures peptide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company specializes in peptide process development and production, supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) manufacturing services.

“With an investment of $118.96 million, AmbioPharm’s additional manufacturing capabilities will provide new economic opportunities in Aiken County,” noted South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III. “We are excited to witness the life sciences company’s continuing growth and development in South Carolina.”

“We are proud to celebrate AmbioPharm’s continued growth and commitment to North Augusta and Aiken County,” added Richard Pendarvis, Chairman of the Western SC Economic Development Partnership. “This $118.96 million expansion and the creation of 202 new jobs represent a significant investment in our community and our workforce. AmbioPharm’s success demonstrates the strength of our region as a destination for advanced manufacturing and life sciences, and we look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth for years to come.”
