09/30/2014
Airgroup is a member of the Radiant family of companies and provides worldwide transportation and logistics services through a network of approximately 100 company-owned and operating partner locations across North America. The company services a diversified account base that includes manufacturers, distributors and government agencies, using a network of independent carriers and integrated service partners positioned strategically around the world.
According to the firm, “the San Diego operation will leverage Radiant's robust technology platform, purchasing power and global network to provide a comprehensive level of domestic and international freight forwarding and logistics services.”
With over 45 years in combined experience, Debbie Smythe and Lynn Buechner will lead Airgroup-San Diego servicing a diversified base of domestic and international customers, corporate officials said.
"We are very excited to be joining Radiant and the Airgroup network," said Smythe. "The platform, in terms of people, process, technology and network is unique in the marketplace and represented a compelling opportunity for us. We are looking forward to leveraging our own strengths along with the capabilities of the Radiant network to bring additional value to our customers while enjoying the benefits of participating in an organization that, through its status as a public company, gives us the ability to work as shareholders and participate in the value that we help create. This is an exciting new dynamic for us and we are looking forward to flying the Radiant/Airgroup flag here in Southern California," she added.
Radiant's Chairman/CEO, Bohn Crain, remarked: "We are very excited to have Debbie and Lynn join our organization as I am confident that they will have an immediate positive impact to our organization which continues to grow in size and strength. We remain bullish on our opportunity for continued organic growth available through on-boarding additional strategic operating partners who are looking to align themselves with a strong financial partner with the technology, purchasing power and global network to deliver world-class solutions to their customers."
