Jabil Healthcare to Locate Operations Complex in Henderson County, North Carolina
12/09/2020
“Innovative and quality healthcare solutions are at the forefront of everyone’s mind right now,” said Jim Cormas, general manager, operations, Jabil, who will oversee operations at the new Jabil location. “Our business is dedicated to providing value to our customers and we’re excited that we’ve been able to find a location that can quickly allow us to grow and help deliver healthcare to people across the world.”
According to The Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, “Jabil plans to construct the new facility on roughly 19 acres of the 41 acre Garrison Lane Property in East Flat Rock, which was recently purchased as part of a historic, three-party agreement among Henderson County, the City of Hendersonville and the Economic Investment Fund of Henderson County, to help protect land for industrial development and job creation. Jabil assessed locations across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Mexico before deciding to locate the new facility in Henderson County.”
Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development said, “The new facility project was born out of a collaborative effort at the local and state level. The project would not have been possible without the support of The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and interlocal public partnership between Henderson County and the City of Hendersonville. This project was generously supported by grant funds from The GoldenLEAF Foundation and the North Carolina Community College System.”
“We’re excited to see the impact of Jabil’s location on our community,” shared Beau Waddell, chair of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development Board of Directors. “But most importantly, we’re proud that Jabil will be making products in our community that will improve global health, we’re most excited to see their broader impact.”
Jabil is a global manufacturing services company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida with locations across 30 countries employing more than 260,000 people. Jabil designs and manufactures products used across industry sectors including Healthcare, Automotive, Aerospace & Defense and Telecommunications. The facility in Henderson County will manufacture plastic components used in pharmaceutical applications.
