Chester Pool Systems Expands Its New Albany, Indiana, Production Facility
11/07/2014
The company will invest $870,000 to construct and equip a new 7,500 square-foot addition to its current 20,000 square-foot facility in New Albany. The facility, which will be fully operational by May, will allow the company to expand its manufacturing space, increasing production capacity and revenue by performing a number of operations that are currently outsourced.
“New Albany and the surrounding counties are full of talented tradespeople with a great attitude and work ethic,” said Greg Carnforth, Vice President of Chester Pool Systems. “The intersection of major highways, a UPS hub, the new bridges and the willingness of state and local officials to listen to the needs of small business combine to make southern Indiana a perfect location for our base of operations.”
As an incentive, Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Chester Pool Systems, Inc. up to $200,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Floyd County will consider additional incentives at the request of One Southern Indiana.
“Indiana is in motion, with a business climate that’s strong and only growing stronger,” said Eric Doden, President of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “Chester Pool has done innovative work all over the country, but decided to expand in the Hoosier State. From our infrastructure to our workforce, companies find calm waters for business in Indiana.” Chester Pool Systems, which currently employs 22 full-time Indiana associates, plans to begin hiring welders, fabricators, engineering and design drafting associates this month.
