SOPREMA Plans Woodstock, Ontario, Operations Center
05/01/2017
“Project details will be released by SOPREMA management and its partners in a future announcement,” according to Woodstock city officials.
The company, an international manufacturer specializing in the production of waterproofing and insulation products, as well as vegetative and soundproofing solutions, for the roofing, building envelope and civil engineering sectors, was founded in France and entered the Canadian market in 1978.
“We are really proud to be building a new facility in Ontario,” said Richard Voyer, Vice-President & CEO of SOPREMA North America. “We already have two sales offices in Ontario, but the new plant will allow us to serve our customers better thanks to the outstanding location at the intersection of NAFTA Super Highways 401 and 403, providing great access to customers and labour.”
“We welcome SOPREMA to Woodstock and are extremely pleased with their decision to choose our community as the location for this major investment,” said Trevor Birtch, Mayor of the City of Woodstock. “SOPREMA is a respected leader within the industry and an international brand that will help further diversify our local economy.”
Woodstock Development Commissioner Len Magyar added, “It has been a true pleasure to work with the staff from SOPREMA over the past 17 months, as their level of professionalism and care is a true reflection of the quality of this company. We wish SOPREMA the greatest success in Woodstock and look forward with excitement as we watch the company continue to grow.”
