06/21/2016
“When searching for a new home for our business, we found that South Carolina and the Travelers Rest community best fit our needs. We look forward to a successful future in Greenville County and anticipate great things in the years to come,” Borgeson Universal Co. Vice President Alan Zordan said.
Founded in 1914, Borgeson Universal is a manufacturer of steering universal joints and components for the industrial, automotive, military and aerospace markets. Utilizing the latest manufacturing and inventory control procedures to maintain stock, the company features rapid turnaround on orders.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
“Team South Carolina’s approach to building a competitive business environment continues to pay off with a growing economy that is creating jobs and providing opportunities for people in every part of our state. We’re thrilled to welcome Borgeson Universal Company to the South Carolina family and to see the impact these 36 jobs will have in Greenville County,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“South Carolina continues to lead the pack in manufacturing, and today’s announcement by Borgeson Universal Company is yet another testament to that. This $4.5 million investment only reinforces the pro-business reputation South Carolina has cultivated,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt noted.
“This company’s relocation is another wonderful testament to the outstanding assets Greenville has to offer businesses of all sizes across many industries. Borgeson Universal Company will benefit from the outstanding talent in the region, and we are grateful for its investment in Travelers Rest,” Greenville County Council Chairman Dr. Bob Taylor explained.
