Atlantic Packaging Expands Operations in Dorchester County, South Carolina
06/28/2019
Founded in 1946, Atlantic Packaging opened its Summerville location in 2007 focused exclusively on packaging and distribution services. Five years ago, the acquisition of a Louisiana-based paperboard company necessitated a 50,000-square-foot expansion of its Dorchester County facility as the company broadened its service offerings to include industrial paperboard converting and printing.
This 100,000-square-foot expansion, designated for distribution and warehousing, including a portion reserved for climate-controlled warehousing space, will allow for an increase in production and warehouse capacity.
“Our Dorchester County location gives us a strategic advantage to best serve our key customers in the region, which is evident in the robust growth we’ve seen in every facet of our business here. We’re thrilled to add new jobs in the county and look forward to continued success here,” said Atlantic Packaging President Wes Carter.
“We’re proud of our existing industries in South Carolina, and Atlantic Packaging is a perfect example of Team South Carolina’s strength. Congratulations to Dorchester County on this wonderful announcement, and we look forward to what the future has in store for this great company,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“Today, we celebrate another win for South Carolina’s strong manufacturing sector as Atlantic Packaging expands its operations. This announcement is further testament that South Carolina is a business-friendly state where companies can grow,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
