France-Based Unither Pharmaceuticals Consolidates-Upgrades Monroe County, New York, Operations

France-based Unither Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical contract and development manufacturing company, plans to consolidate and update its operations in Henrietta, New York. The $106 million project is expected to create 180 jobs in Monroe County.

The investment will include an additional 43,000 square feet to accommodate new equipment and expand warehouse capabilities.

“Unither’s purpose is to provide innovative, competitive, and easy to use solutions to simplify the life of patients around the world while reducing our Carbon footprint and our impact on the environment and taking care of our employees to offer them job opportunities and career possibilities,” said Unither Pharmaceuticals CEO Eric Goupil. “ This expansion will enable our Rochester plant to increase its capacity on preservative-free sterile products and will allow us to support our customers in their growth. Thanks to the dynamism of all local stakeholders, we are confident to reach a leadership position in the U.S.”

Empire State Development (ESD) is supporting the project with up to $7 million in through the performance-based Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program. Monroe County, Rochester Gas & Electric and Greater Rochester Enterprise are also assisting with the project.

Unither Pharmaceuticals offers strategic outsourcing of healthcare products (from early-stage development to manufacturing) using its technology platforms. The company offers licensing-out: turnkey products that are already registered: License or transfer of marketing authorization, sale of pharmaceutical pharmaceutical files, medical devices. Unither currently operates eight manufacturing plants in France, the U.S., Brazil and China.
