SpaceFactory Establishes Huntsville, Alabama, Operations

11/22/2024
Space and terrestrial construction technology company SpaceFactory plans to establish operations in Huntsville, Alabama. The $2 million project is expected to create 25 jobs.

The new facility, located at 209 Bailes Street near the innovative Campus 805, will expand the company’s lunar research and advanced manufacturing divisions.

“We are excited to be joining Huntsville’s thriving community of innovators and are immensely grateful for the support from the State of Alabama, Governor Kay Ivey, the City of Huntsville, and Mayor Tommy Battle,” SpaceFactory CEO Dave Malott said. “This support allows a small but ambitious company like ours to grow and make a significant impact, following in the footsteps of the Apollo program as we support NASA’s return to the Moon with Artemis.”

SpaceFactory is at the frontier of developing technologies for building in Space. But our innovations don't stop there. The company also offers solutions to engineer 3D printing machines, high-performance materials, and intuitive software for a full spectrum of industries.

“SpaceFactory’s move to Huntsville is a testament to the collaborative environment and robust resources that make Alabama a destination for forward-thinking companies,” noted Ellen McNair, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “With its focus on advanced manufacturing and lunar infrastructure, SpaceFactory is well-positioned to thrive in Huntsville’s dynamic tech landscape.”

“The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber welcomes SpaceFactory and PlanetWorks to our community,” added Lucia Cape, the Chamber’s Senior Vice President of Economic Development. “We appreciate the innovation they bring along with their focus on sustainability. It is very rewarding when companies recognize the welcoming and supportive environment we have here and want to be a part of it.”
