Portugal-Based Hovione Expands East Windsor, New Jersey, Campus

Hovione, a Portugal-based multi-national global leader in spray drying and particle engineering, is expanding its manufacturing plant in East Windsor, New Jersey. The project is expected to create up to 100 jobs over the next few years.

According to company officials, the $170 million investment is part of a global expansion strategy to increase capacity at sites in the USA, Ireland and Portugal. In New Jersey, Hovione will add a 31,000 sq. ft. building next to its current facility. The location will bring additional commercial spray drying capacity online by 2023 and allow the company to respond to the needs of customers who favor US-based manufacturing through their development cycles all the way to commercial.
