Lithium Battery Company Plans Tampa, Florida, Battery Pack Production Operations

01/10/2026
Power solutions provider Lithium Battery Company plans to establish manufacturing operations in Tampa, Florida. The $4 million project is expected to create 50 jobs in Hillsborough County over three years.

The company will lease a 60,000-square-foot facility, located at 5201 S. Westshore Blvd, which will manufacture both cylindrical and prismatic lithium battery packs for applications including small-scale electronic devices to large commercial energy storage systems.

“Our new Tampa facility represents the cutting edge of battery manufacturing technology,” said Nathan Staron, Chief Executive Officer. “With our comprehensive range of automated assembly lines and testing capabilities, we’re positioned to meet the most demanding requirements across defense, AI infrastructure, and commercial applications. This expansion aligns perfectly with our mission of maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility while pushing the boundaries of energy storage technology.”

To support the project the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council assisted Lithium Battery with permitting and approvals for the new property and connections to pursue the Quick Response Training Grant.

“Manufacturing has a long history in the Tampa area as a source of innovation for a wide range of industries, and we continue to see growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector with companies like Lithium Battery Company,” noted Ron Christaldi, Chair of the Tampa Bay EDC and Shumaker Partner/President and CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida. “We’re proud Lithium Battery Company has chosen to expand in Tampa and create more manufacturing jobs in our community.”

Lithium Battery Company is a manufacturer focused on advanced, lithium-ion battery solutions, offering batteries for defense, industrial, marine, and recreational uses, often as drop-in replacements for lead-acid systems, using automated manufacturing for custom packs and large energy storage systems.
